Give Now to the Highland View Technology Fund!
The Technology Committee of Highland View Elementary School is a group of dedicated parents, teachers and administrators looking to raise $30,000 in needed funds to support technology at our school. Our mission is to support Highland View Elementary School’s appeal for technology equipment to support curriculum delivery and instruction. MCPS is rolling out a new web-based curriculum and with the down turn in the economy, has not been able to adequately and equitably upgrade their schools needs.
Our first campaign is raising money needed to buy visualizer/document camera from ELMO for every classroom, plus laptops and projectors that enable their use in teaching.
Check out the Highland View PTA Technology Committee Facebook Page to read more about the work of the committee and the technology we are helping Highland View acquire for its teachers.

Grocery Fundraising Information
Another way to support HVES technology programs is to participate in the various grocery fundraising initiatives. Contributions generated from these programs always go directly to support HVES, and this year these funds are being earmarked to support the technology committee's fundraising goals.
Read more about grocery fundraising programs (en Español), and see all the kinds of packaging that can support boxtops for education (en Español). These flyers and more are now available under the Flyers tab at the top of every page on the HVES PTA Web site.

Get Involved...HVES relies on Parent Volunteers
Finding time to devote to your child's school can be a real challenge, but there are so many ways that you can lend a hand. Please consider volunteering at the school — there will be many opportunities, and it pays for itself in smiles from happy students and teachers.
We were so impressed with Tim Croft's use of Sign Up Genius for the Staff Appreciation Breakfast, that we are going to try using this system for the various functions at HVES. Take a look at the forms- it makes it easy to see what is needed and how many helping hands we need.
Contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Holly Rothrock, to learn about all the opportunities to get involved. Large projects or small, they all make a HUGE difference. Learn more....
